“Friends of the World” Association had announced a charity collection which started on October 1, 2011 and which is supposed to last until September 30, 2012. It is meant to support children with cardiac diseases from Cardiology and Paediatric Cardiac Surgery Wards of Polish Mother’s Memorial Hospital-Research Institute managed by prof. Jadwiga Moll and prof. Jacek Moll. We are carrying out this campaign at present.
As usual, before Fashion Week Poland started, we had had a meeting with our Friend Marcellous L. Jones on Thursday, April 19, in the Irish Pub restaurant. This time Marcellous surprised us – he had decided to bake a carrot cake especially for us. Irish Pub gave him access to a summer kitchen and Marcellous got down to work.
On Thursday evening the carrot cake was ready but Marcellous could not decorate it until Friday. Marcellous brought the cake to our charity stand. We cut it into pieces ceremonially, together with Irmina Kubiak – FW organizer. It was DELICIOUS. Everyone who came to our stand at that time could try a piece of this delicacy…
Marcellous L. Jones and Phaedra support our campaign. We were also visited by Nuno Gama, a Portuguese designer, who promised to make a charity drawing for us 🙂
The stand was staffed by members of the Association – Irenka Zawodniak – and volunteers – Kasia Stępień. People could also buy our charity products 🙂
